AMT Automag .22 mag.

I see an AMT Automag in .22 mag. listed in a gun auction.

Anyone with experience on this gun? I have always like the looks of them and thought about getting one in .22 mag or .30 carbine

they can be very finicky , one of our guys has one took 6 months of tinkering to get it working good. (22 mag_

I own a .30 Carbine model, and had a few feed issues until I was past about the 200 rd mark. I had a smith do a bit of polishing and dehorning, now it runs like a top. The only problems I have occationaly is with the harder-primered surplus ammo. I don't think they deserve all the negative press they used to get. My buddys brand new Kimber took longer to sort out.

The .30 throws a neat fire ball most days ...

I fired a friend's 22 mag AMT and the only bad thing with his was the trigger pull which could be fixed quite easily by a good gunsmith.

My dad had one. Didn't see much action but when it did, it was fine.

His was stolen otherwise he'd still have it.
