An Enfield Rifle vs the Red Baron?

An Australian Lewis gunner did the bastard. For all the glorification of him, he was a cold blooded killer as evidenced by the number of aircraft he shot down. And it really helps if you have your Jasta flying above to watch your arse while you drop down on some poor sucker.

well, i guess anyone who isnt on you side is a bastard. and he did have his jasta fly above him, but remember he also started painting first his albatross and then his dr1 red, to warn newbs. he had a total of 82 kills, i believe, which doesnt make him a cold blooded killer, but rather a VERY skilled pilot. Apparently his WHOLE unit was wiped out, and he became very depressed(surviviors guilt). he also saw that he was only a tool for propaganda, as the air war had little importance in the full scope of the war. Well, when he died, he was buried by the Allies, with full military honors, showing how respectful they were of him.

ANYHOO, dont arisakas have anti aircraft sights? were they any good?

No. he had a total of 79 kills. Arch Whitehouse was his supposed 80th, but he strongly disagreed with the assumption.
Now according to his contemporaries he was a rotten pilot and every landing he made was more of a controlled crash. However he was an excellent shot and that made up for it. Richtohen could hardly be said to not enjoy what he was doing since he had a small silver cup made for each of his victories and collected bits from the aircraft he shot down. Billy Bishop had a more realistic view of the germans.
