So this might not be news to anyone, But I tryed it last night.

My corncob media was getting to the end of its life span. The cases were coming out more and more dull and dusty. So I had an idea, I usually use brasso to polish my collectable ammo and artillery shells. I put the media back in the tumbler, put about 1/3 of the can of brasso in the media along with about 60 peices of brass(7.62x54, .45acp, .308, and .223). Left it on over night, Unlugged it this morning and took a look. With a slight rub from a rag it is by far the most shiny brass I'v ever got back from the tumbler.

My camera isnt the best but I think you'll get the idea, I had to use a factory round for the 7.62x54 comparrison, The duller looking ones is what I usually get from my tumbler unless the media is brand new

I guess I am behind on the times, And I only see need to do this at the end of the medias life span, Great test John! I'll use the search button next time

I get shiny brass in 1.5-2hrs of tumbling with mix of corn cob and walnut shell and a tiny bit of car wheels' metal cleaner-polish :D
