Anyone ever try loading game in the back of their truck with their boat rack 'lecktrick boat loader?
Kicked the boat off and seen all that 'lecktrick chit up there with awl them ropes.
Hmmmmm, me thinks..............

Dewable?

need one of them sno mobile decks that lift and tilt out of the bed of the truck, also makes a great platform for showing off your prize on the way home like way back in the golden years when a moose strapped to the roof of the station wagon roused alot of clapping and cheering during the parade of successful hunters in down town vancouver

Me, meself and I don't kawnstittewt "we"..........................:sok2

Very doable solo, just takes longer, maybe some rope and more patience, watch for the internal neck parts they can jam things up...would not recommend this method for the geriatric types though, very physically demanding.

The conservation officers have been using the 12 volt ATV winch attached to their "back rack" here with great success hauling roadkill moose off the highway. All you need is a ramp to put on the tailgate.

this..

I have my own version of a box winch / headache rack, works slick for loading moose, and the year my quad died it was very handy loading it back into the box.

The ones the C.O. have is very heavy and mounted on the top of the rack, the one I made is much lighter and the winch is mounted to a length of 3" angle iron that is at box height directly behind the cab, much lower and this allows for the rack to be constructed out of lighter materials.

I also put a slightly lighter cable on the 2000lb winch, this lets me put a lot more cable on.

I remember them days...
Not Vancouver, but Richmond....
Might be an idea to rig up another pulley before you try this...

I use quad ramps and have the animal in a sled with a hitch, back it up the ramps and into the truck, then trailer the quad / side by side. Unloads really easily under my gambrel system, basically hand pull it off on the noted ramps. Tip the sled on its side up against the moose or elk, winch it over, it falls in the sled, one man operation, no back strain involved. I have o bolts on both sides of the sled, get the animal positioned then rope it down.

Could you just attach a block and tackle to the backrack and attach one end of a rope to the animal, the other to your atv and then just drive the atv away from your truck thus pulling the animal up the ramp? No need for an expensive secondary winch, just a length of rope and a pulley mounted firmly to the front inside of the box.

Here's a model. Please excuse the crudity, i didnt have time to make it to scale or paint it...

Similar to above, attach dinner on one end, pass the rope through a bed mounted pulley, and attach the other end to something immovable. Slowly drive truck forward.

Most boat loaders are rated to about 600lbs. I've seen a setup that held the main line away from the loader. The guy used it to lift the motor into the bed of the truck. No doubt it would work with a chunk of meat. The guy in Surrey, Load-It (I think) made it.

I use my old motorcycle ramp made from 2 side by side 2x6’s, it hangs off the tailgate. I climb into the truck bed and pull deer up the ramp with my drag line rope, easy to do solo. If a friend is there we just heave it into the bed on the count of 3.

If you were going to tie off to a stump and drive away while loadong you would need to securely attach the ramp to your truck so it doesnt slip out from under dinner while you moved.

No atv tho then yeah for sure go with the boat loader if its rated to pull the weight. If not then face the loader toward the front of the box and use a pulley to cut the force required in half.
