AN SKS for $75.

Got a case of ammo and the SKS for my brother-in-law. I got a CZ so we are gonna split the ammo. Don't tell him though as it's his Christmas present ;) Won't be here for Christmas but hopefully next week.

Got mine a couple days ago. First time doing the whole cosmoline removal thing. Here's the pics of my new SKS journey.

Starting right from the full strip, covered in cosmoline..

Absolutely beautiful rifle, I can't thank John enough! Great deal and a great rifle! Everyone needs one of these and if you already have one, you need two! (or ten)

Where did you get that awesome bin?

I've been looking for something like that for a long time.

Home Depot. It was ten bucks. It's perfect for soaking gun parts and what not. It's only about 6 inches high, but it's 36 by 24 length and width. Even came with a lid!

Mine didn't have any factory markings, just the serial number, 0101503 (01503 on most parts). ALL matching serial numbers. Even the gas tub and other parts had the serial number etched into it (which I wasn't expecting).

I recovered mine from this deal a few weeks ago, only serial #s,, all match everywhere,, I read a ton of threads tryin to date the gun i recieved exactly,, however everywhere I read people have the triangle with numbers, or Chinese writing, mine has only serial number, must be rarer? Lol

I couldn't find anything at first on my father in laws but eventually found a small star on the left side of the receiver (very small)

seems like a deal, but then there's shipping

I ordered this,(thinking it such a good deal) sending mail to john directly. I asked him for a shipping quote (twice), before processing the order and sending it because I knew I could get the same ammo and a Russian sks from a local store for $525, and if the price was going to be close (within $50), I'd give the business to someone local, support the local economy and all that. Instead of getting a quote, I got nothing; no reply to the 3 emails I sent, no quote, nothing. 5 days later the bill shows up for $530 on my Visa. That's $279 for ammo, $75 for the sks, and $17.70 for GST. Which leaves over $150 for shipping!!

I usually try not to gripe about issues with shopping on the internet, but all in all this has left a very bad taste in my mouth; leaving me a little worried about the quality of the merchandise when it gets here, considering how shoddy the service has been. Of a good mind to send it all back, unopened, I'm so mad:)
Thanks John. For nothing.

^^^ So you sent two emails asking for shipping, got no reply so pulled the trigger and made the purchase? And now you are pissed? I agree that is a lot in shipping, but you're gonna take some heat too on this one for not being patient enough to get a quote first before you made an impulse buy.

With the ammo being shipped seperate from the gun, it would be reasonable to assume the ammo is $75 in shipping, and the gun is $75 in shipping. I wonder what two guns sent together would be worth in shipping. I'd be interested in the SVT40 and an SKS, but that shipping total would need to be known first.

BIGPLINKER;
"little worried about the quality of the merchandise when it gets here, considering how shoddy the service has been. Of a good mind to send it all back, unopened, "

Once more I ask that folks use their name so I can pull the file and check things out. In this case no file for BIGPLINKER.

Obviously you are not happy, if you wish, you can either refuse the shipment or return it, your choice, we will offer a full refund....

I do apologize for not taking care of your file myself I was in the hospital several times recently.... If I had know I would have refused treatment to take care of your order.
John

STOP WONDERING about shipping, ask....

If you live outside the major cities ammo shipping can be expensive.... On the other hand the shipping on the rifles is quite reasonable, $20. to $30.
