An Update on Wanstalls M10x pre-order!

I missed it and I don't think the next batch will have good price just like the first one. For that reason alone, I am out.

In close consultation with the President of M+M Industries, we believed at the time that we had the full and appropriate pricing structure...we did not. Thanks for the update. I see no intentional wrong doing on your behalf. However the whole situation still stinks. I can forsee a price gouging by M+M cometh. The extra costs for a Canadian compliant model is a bull s#it excuse. There is NO extra cost at the manufacturing level to cut the barrel blank to the required length. No extra work required.

M+M's reputation has a lot of proving to be done. You guys once again proved to be solid.

I feel sorry you have to endure this crap
 
I missed out on the preorder unfortunately and I've read all the drama that's unfolded. As others have said if these are much higher than the intital price quoted I'm not sure I'll buy one either. These seem to sell for $1100-$1200 US so I'd be interested if they're under $1,600 in Canada. I'm not ok being price gouged because I live in Canada and have to pay the often cited non restricted tax.

I've only had a few dealings with Wanstalls and each has gone smoothly with great customer service. I sure hope their new pricing is fair.
 
I missed the preorder and am pissed about that but I don't think people had doubts about you guys following thru on your end but m & m still seems shady saying they never talked to you guys or you had nothing to do with their business which is clearly a lie. I think they just want to jack up their prices.
 
This is exactly why I didn’t hesitate to pre-order with Wanstalls. I haven’t deal with a better retailer than these guys.
 
Thanks for the update Wanstalls, at least some good news has come of this.
Hopefully those who order in the future don't have to endure a huge cost increase or any if we are lucky
 
I not privy to what happened here, but one possible and simple scenario is that just like lot of other dealers in Canada, Wanstall probably have a partnered FFL dealer in the USA, they saw M+M website MSRP and figured their US partner can just purchase the rifle and do all the importation themselves, with the dealer discount they would have gotten, by buying it through a US dealer they were able to keep the pricing relatively low. There is nothing wrong or underhanded with the practice, it is just a quicker way to get the product in to Canada.

However when people start contacting M+M directly questioning the deal, M+M obviously has a different version in mind as to how to supply the Canadian market and with that Wanstall's plan quickly start to crumble.
 
The light interest I had, previously, has been diminished substantially.

I suspect exponentially more, in relationship to the price gouge to subsidize US consumers, that we may/will see, if this in fact comes in higher than $1449.

Seems like it undoubtedly will. Canadian NR Tax confirmed, in M+Ms own words.
