I was wondering if any fellow CGN Colt Anaconda owners, present or past, could/would like to share some data.
Have you had any timing issues or other wise problems with your .44 Magnum Colt? Along with an guesstimated round count, factory or handload, light or heavy cast, etc etc etc....
On the same note, would you share some positive aspects about your handgun too please?

Looking forward to......

I have a Colt Anaconda. It works fine. There were some issues when I first got it with the cylinder not spinning/indexing when you cocked the hammer. Turns out that it was the ammo being fired (reloads) and that they cylinder was “sticking”. So I would say it is fussy re-ammo and primer seating depth.

I took it into a gunsmith here who gave it a clean bill of health. His report was that they can go out of time, but it takes some serious work to get them to that point.

I also have a S&W 29-2 in .44 mag. Between them both the Colt seems to have more attention paid to fit and finish. I shoot .44mag once a month-ish at the indoor range.

I've got no issues with mine. Fit / finish, trigger pull are better on it than on my S&W N Frame. Total round count unknown but I've put 500+ rounds of Wolf reloads through it. 240gr lead semi wad cutters. I didn't like the factory grip so I put on a Hogue "mono-grip" A fun gun to shoot, but a PITA to keep shiny!

I've got one, no problems so far. No idea about the overall round count, I myself put around 120 rounds since I got it. Shot only factory ammo, though. Had one of the frame screws loose when I bought it, tightened it, and that was the end of it. Very accurate revolver.

I've got original Colt wood grips on it, and it takes toll on your hands after 20 - 25 rounds. How does the Hogue monogrip fair in this department?

I am going to start shooting it soon on more or less consistent basis on Safari matches at my gun club, with the reloaded ammo, will see how it behaves then.

I have a 6" Anaconda that has been shot a fair bit. I've put at least 400 down the tube and I'm not the first owner. There is some gas abrasion at the front of the cylinders but the timing is still crisp as ever and accuracy is quite good with factory 44mag loads, superb with all lead round nose 44spcl. The factory grips do leave a fair bit to be desired, on the hunt for a hogue... I used to think it had stiff recoil, then I bought a 500 s&w, which makes it a pleasure to shoot in perspective :p. Too bad that this fine pistols will only ever see the range. I tend to think crawling through the heavy willows with some nice zippy 240's would make for a decent tag filling experience :).
