Analog NVGs.... anything decent for under 1K?

So I've always wanted a set of these, but know NOTHING about them. Looking online there are the cheap Amazon Chinesium digital ones, and the $3K+ better quality options... but I don't see much of anything in between.

Anyone in the know want to chime in? I know I want true 1x, analog, removable battery (AA or something else readily available), reasonably robust, and something that'll be useful in pretty-damn-dark conditions.

Is 1K all all realistic? If not, what're the most affordable options out there that meet my requirements?

Oh, and head mount or helmet mount is fine. Preferably both.

I suspect I may be stepping down a rabbit hole here...

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Looking around, I’d say no unless you have a friend in the US DOD PX system.

There is a Canadian company (I attached an image of their product but they aren’t in the CGN vendor list) selling DTNVG (dual tube night vision) and MNVG (mono-tube night vision) with prices starting around $2kIMG_3716.png

For 1K there is nothing that will be analog that is readily available.
For around $2.5k you could probably find a decent PVS14 with some lower end (1400FOM) tubes. That would be a good place to start.
OpFor night solutions has a PVS 14 with Green Phos NNVT 1400FOM tubes for $2200 right now. That is the cheapest you are going to find new.

Be very careful though. NODs are a bit of a money pit. When I got started out I was gonna get a PVS14 but I decided to save a little (alot) more a start out with a bino system right off the bat as opposed to getting a mono, then up grading/ trading up.

Now I have a MH1 with 1600FOM white phos tubes and I am very happy with it.

I prefer mono tube on my weak side eye with a weapon mounted IR laser.

That way I preserve my night vision in my dominant eye in case I need to shoot with my 1x illuminated reticle LPVO and white light.

Plus its cheaper for this civilian.

Good advice. Plus less expensive than a bino setup.... I'm a big fan of more affordability, without cheaping out.
