Sig P226 or a 1911 (9mm) of equal value (new).... Any input would be appreciated!

Not knowing what you already own or what you are comparing, I went down the same road a few years back. I had a P226 and an STI Ranger II 1911. Both were pretty good in there own way but very different. The trigger and weight of the P226 made it less capable for follow up shots, for me (I am no Navy Seal!). The 1911 had a nice trigger but the grip/angle wasn't a good fit for my hands. As previously stated by another CGNer, nothing I have shot compares to a CZ SP01 Shadow at that price point. If you really want a SIG 226, buy a steel frame model.
