Every year it starts - I love it and have to do it all over again. 1st set this morning had one come out and he didn't sty long and went back in not giving me time for a shot.

About 3 minutes into the 2nd set here comes gray ears coming right at me from over the hill. He stops around the 125 - 150 mark and looks and Good Night !

Yes it's that time of year again. Coyotes are really active here the past month or so. I nailed one last sunday. Unfortunately I botched the shot and it made off in a direction I could not continue to shoot for a farm house in the line of fire on a neighbouring farm. Went to that place to ask permission to track it and they said by all means. Well I tracked it into an old oil tank converted to grain storage and the manway was customised such only an auger (or coyote) could fit through the opening. Tracks led right into it but none came out. I am sure it was in there dead or dying but I could neither get in nor see in to look for it. Not a great start to the season that's for sure. You're up and off to a good start! Congratulations!!

With all the butchering going on there is lots of bait. Can hardly wait to find the time to get set up.
Nice yote. Congrats

What kind of calls are you using? I have a few nice mouth calls that sound great when I compare them to live sounds but I can't seem to get the yotes out with them, the crows come in like crazy though. I would love to try a fox pro but over my budget.

Glad to see you back at it. Tried calling in some coyote's yesterday. No success. But at least I didn't freeze! The warm weather here in Manitoba has been thoroughly enjoyed.

i have the same luck as you. lots of crows which make a few passes overhead before they figure it out but no coyotes. some friends run hounds which gets the coyotes moving . nice coyote by the way and i am looking forward to getting out even if i suck at calling .
