As oldiron says; you need hands like a gorilla to operate them. Their good feature is that they index on a recess in the front of thy cylinder mating with the back end of the barrel; a very sure method. Their bad feature is that the hand is linked to a toggle linkage that moves the cylinder back and forth. If the ring lever is not all the way forward and the toggle completely straight, under recoil the hand swings up but the cylinder does not turn and the hand becomes bent or broke.
