And we wonder why shipping is so expensive for reloading items?

Seeing as I live fairly close to the Ontario / Manitoba border I can assume my order went by me on it's way to Toronto which is about 20 hours East of me.
I wonder if it is normal procedure to send all shipments to a main "Provincial Hub" for sorting and delivery to that particular Province?
Seems a waste to put that extra time and mileage in when it could have been dropped off a lot closer to my town much earlier?

It depends where the specific shipment it was on went to. Being in Ottawa any packages shipped from within Ontario go straight to Ottawa but most other packages go to Montreal first. I once ordered some stuff from I think Montana and it went to I believe Medicine Hat, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and then to Ottawa.

My friend who works for Canada Post in administration said it matters which routes it hits and at what time. He said it's pretty much the same for any carrier. I once had a package arrive from Hong Kong in 2 days before because everything just happened to line up perfectly.

Sounds normal. I ordered a few stocks from boyds in South Dakota. Instead of just coming straight up and into Canada/ Saskatchewan it went all the way to ontario then to Sk.

I live just outside of Fort, and quite often things to to Toronto before coming back here. It's rather funny to think that it was shipped right past us for another 40 hours of highway travel. Ridiculous.

Yeah, I recently received an item.
Shipped from Ontario...................tracked to Prince George (120 km north of me).....then on to Richmond (700 km away).....then back to Quesnel. Canada Post at its finest!

I have tracked parcels for me (in Ottawa) depart West Coast, arrive in Toronto, depart Toronto,
arrive .............

in Montreal ........... then come to Ottawa.

It's OK I had a canpar shipment go back and forth between 2 places 5 times before they figured out that I wasn't there...

My last shipment from a supplier on the west coast went from Vancouver to Toronto to Edmonton (I'm in Manitoba) was only 9 days late..

but they don't guarantee shipping so no rebates.
