I should have added this to the "searching for .43 Mauser" post, but I do not have the ability to add pictures yet. So I'll describe this the best that I can!
Along with the Mauser, I inherited a whole whack of 9MM, an original (maybe) looks to be cardboard box and a grimey magazine. I know it's old, I figure it's German, I'm just trying to track down what exactly it is and what it went to.

The box reads "16 Pistolenpatronen 08 S E
suk 1945
Nz. Stb P. (0.7-0.7 **Ineligible** has 1
Patrh: St. 1944 faa Ger **Ineligible** 08 E 1944/cvg
Zdh 08 40 1943 **Ineligible** m 68"
*Ineligible because the box has been opened at some point.
The only thing I've turned up in research is that it COULD be 9mm produced in 1945. The magazine was apparently from a Walther P.38 but until I have permissions to post pictures I cannot post a picture, and therefore cannot be sure.
I have another box of "Aspirin" filled with about ten of these rounds. Perhaps it was meant as a joke by its previous owner, I had a little chuckle when I opened it up.

All in all, including the box, the mag, and the box of "Aspirin" I have about 30 rounds of this stuff. I leave it up to you tenured folks to help out, would be interesting to solve the mystery.

Well, factually the ammo was make in 1945, by Deusche Waffen u. Munitionsfabriken A-G., Karlsruhe, Germany (suk).
What I highly doubt is that a wounded German would be transported to an Allied field hospital, by Allied personnel, in an Allied vehicle, and still have his sidearm in his possession. Pretty sure it would have been officially confiscated by the authorities or unofficially "confiscated" by the capturing troops or medical transport staff.

Yeah, it's just the story I got. Highly unlikely, but sometimes it's nice to have a good story along with something.
