Annealing nickle plated brass?

I can't think of any reason why not. Nickel and copper are very compatible, bonding between them should be very strong. The nickel shouldn't flake off.
I've done it and it works fine - changes the colour of the cartridge neck very little (darkens it a bit), and there was no flaking.
You can't watch for colour changes like you can with plain brass, as it takes more heat to start to see a reddish colour. Time it instead. Find out how long your setup takes for plain brass, and apply that to the nickel plated cases.
