Well, my daughter has her tree up already, so I guess it's ok to post the family picture. I know many of you have much bigger families, but we're pretty tight and proud. Three 28ga on the left and two 12s on the right.

Maybe a bit early, but Merry Christmas to all my friends here.

No more planned before Christmas. ;)

That's weird. Don't know why the image isn't showing up. They usually do. I'm retarded at this stuff....it it doesn't work as advertised, I'm screwed. This may be the first time I've tried to post a pic since the site "upgrade" a few months ago.

Forgive me if I get a few mixed up.....my eyes are giving me problems these days.

From the bottom:
1952 Superposed 20 gauge
Circa 1920 J & W Tolley single barrel game gun 12 gauge
1920 Manufrance Ideal Grade 7RE-C Perfection 12 gauge
1933 Purdey Best 12 gauge
1901 Charles Daly Diamond Quality model 270 12 gauge
1025 Charles Daly Diamond Quality model 270 12 gauge
1905 Charles Daly Diamond Quality model 270 20 gauge
1925 Deforney 12 gauge
1948 Belgian guild gun 16 gauge
1910 A H Fox A grade 12 gauge
1921 Francotte Walkabout 28 gauge
Circa 1922 Lovena Sidelock 12 gauge
1894 Charles Daly Featherweight 16 gauge
1923 Griefelt 16 gauge
Circa 1922 Ferlach 16 gauge
Parker 12 gauge
1888 Henri Pieper Sidelock Damscus
1905 Remington 1900 Damascus
1898 Charles Daly Model 118 12 gauge

There has already been a bunch of comings and goings. The Parker and a Greener not in the pic are gone as are the Deforney and the Belgian guild gun. Additions include a Fox SW 20 gauge, a Husqvarna 310 AS in 16 gauge as well as a Simpson in 16 gauge. Love those long barreled small bores with Germanic origins.

I've been doing the group shot once a year since I got bored during the Covid Spring. It's kinda fun to assemble them all. Table is getting crowded though.

Thank God for the zoom function!
They look great!!

One day I gotta get my family shot together too.
Albeit small overall I've got a new member this year!

And boy-o-boy do I ever miss Ardbeg......
When I open the family pic I can see some others posted, and there's that whisky group shot....
Ardbeg, Caol Isla and Talisker.......😢

No pic as yet but my family underwent a few changes this year. This is the first year in closing in on 40 years that I no longer own an over-under. Acquired my first SxS in 2022 and now have 4 and quite certain I'll be adding more...
Currently the family consists of a 1927 12ga Ithaca NID4E two bbl set, a 12ga Parker VH, a 12ga Lefever H Grade and a 20ga Lefever Nitro Special and a few other assorted semi auto and single shots.

Yup, that Manufrance looks quite stunning... and that Tolley single certainly stands out... But if I was to have the opportunity to kiss one under the mistletoe, you'll find me next to the 20g Charles Daly (a older lady with a broken limb, obviously needs a little support... No :))

CB, your pictures isn't showing because of some silly filter on CGN. In the link to your image, Smugmug has 3x in a row... and cgn convert it to ###

Thanks for the explanation re the pic SM.

You sure.know how to pick them. While it needs a full resto, the Daly 20 is likely my favorite as well.

Rob! That Caesar is really nice.
Thanks. 28ga and it's pretty much all I shoot these days. The deep engraving and the 32" barrels really called to me and the customer service from Caesar Guerini Canada has been great. (Full set of factory extended chokes from Italy.) On my way to the club in 20 minutes with it by my side.

Ya, ya, a lot of you have seen this cabinet. This year I've switched up the contents so this is the 19th Century Damascus-barrelled family . (The ones that haven't uncoiled already). The top nine are cartridge guns. All are 12 ga. unless specified. Bottom gun is percussion cap. They all get shot from time to time.

From the top:

James Forrestal Smythe, Darlington
Thomas Woodward, Birmingham
J. Thuillier, St. Etienne
Samuel Mathews patent, unknown maker, Birmingham proofed 10 ga.
Gustave Masu, London
Edgar Roberts, Birmingham
JB McHarg *Sporting Goods*, Rome New York., Birmingham proofs
Thomas Horsley, York
E. M. Reilly, London
GW Bales, Ipswich and Colchester, 10 ga. percussion
