The club I belong to has a wide assortment of Glocks, and Sig 226s in various calibers to choose from along with .22 revolvers and semi's.

So I thought for *my* first purchase I'd go for a .40 S&W Sig SP2022.

Not the most popular choice but I think they are pretty neat. And it would be nice to have something different at the range.
The grip looks pretty similar to the 226 and with the additional back strap insert option I think it would be hard to miss getting a good fit.

What's the story on this gun and why isn't it as popular as I think it should be?

If you are planning to reload ammo, do not buy .40. The barrel in this sig (226 also) is not fully supported and I got two brass blow outs with .40 SW

Interesting, I plan on never re-loading since I'm naturally lazy. ;-)

Pretty set on that calibre SP2022 as a 1st....

Just kinda looking for more people who have owned and used this gun to get a feel for what to expect.

Probably the most underrated polymer handgun on the market. Trigger just as nice as the metal frame P22x guns.

Uh Huh, even on the Sig Forums no one really says anything other than nice trigger.

Guess I just have to buy one and shoot it for myself.

I like the Sig P226, and Glocks, I've tried an XD also I liked it.

Guess I'm going to need to re-think the size of the safe.

My invoice from Questar states "Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to assist with feeding your addiction!"

How did they figure that out from one order?

I have the 2022 and it is an awesome pistol, you will not be disappointed. I compared it to a buddies 226 and I think it is about the same on the trigger. I found it hard to believe that you can get a Sig for under $900 and it's better than a glock and the M&P (IMHO). I had a M&P and sold it after on putting 100 rounds in it, didn't like it.

So I put a 40 S&W on layaway at Epps this afternoon. Pending the arrival of my RPAL.

I must say that the retailers I've been dealing with over the past week (Questar and Epps)
are very helpful and courteous.

Guess it makes all the waiting more bearable. ;)
