What would I gain by reloading over purchasing premium ammo with the same bullet? eg. Federal Premium with 130 gr. TSX, Federal Web tells me 3300fps + - 10

Thanks

You'd gain more money in your pocket, and probably a bit more accuracy. Velocity would be a "maybe more/maybe less" proposition, but probably not much more and not much less, whichever way it turned out.

So ! If I'm shooting a rifle that the manufacturer garantees to shoot 1 in. or less with a 5 shot group before it leaves the factory, the only thing I'm to gain is money?

Well, considering factory ammo is about $2 or $3 per trigger-pull last time I looked, and handloads about $0.80 to $1.25 -- I'd say that was a worthwhile investment. :)

I would think you have to test your rifle to see what type of velocity you’ll get with the factory ammo. What the web site has printed and what you get out of your rifle could be different and the same goes for reloading manuals...

Get yourself a $150 chronograph and try those premium loads for speed!
That's about 2 boxes of ammo at todays prices.
I think you will answer your own question!
Oh by the way welcome to the handloading fraternity!
