I am looking at a pistol in .32 S&W short. it says on the antique page .32 S&W and .32 S&W long are prohib but what about .32 S&W short?

.32 S&W 'short' is actually the standard .32 S&W cartridge and was designed in 1878 as a black-powder round, so it falls into the specifically named prohibited category.
It's only referred to as the 'short' to differentiate it from the .32 S&W Long, which came along in 1896, and uses brass about .3" longer.

Sorry, basically all of the .32 center fire revolvers you will find are going to be on the no go list.

Exceptions would be European .320CF and .32 Merwin and Hulbert.

The .320CF guns being much more common but still not that easy to find or prove in chambering.

They wont grant antique status or a antique letter for 32 M&H or 38 M&H anymore not for a few years now.
the 320 is still ok tho.
