Here is my version of a 6.5x47 Lapua

Stiller TAC 30 action (Thanks Ian!)
29 inch Gaillard bbl 1:8 Twist, Palma Contour
Macmillian A5 (Thanks Wallbanger)
Action Pillared and Bedded with Devcon 10110, and all gunsmithing at Omega Custom Guns.
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22 x 56 (Hirsh Precision)

So far I have worked up loads with 123 and 139 gn Lapua Scenar both shoot very well. I did not have much luck with 142gn Bergers, but my seating die will need to have its stem deepend, as this one cruches the tips of the Bergers. I hope to have some 130gn Bergers to try soon.

I have shot 123gn loads at 300 yards and 900 yards where it performed very well. At 1000 yards it started to have a trouble with the wind. At 900 yards I shot back to back strings with this rifle and my 7mm WSM (180gn Bergers) both perfomed equally. At 1000 yards the 7mm WSM was clearly the better performer. I really love this round, it is a pleasure to shoot and I look forward to using it in some precision matches.

Great set up! Funny, I have almost the exact project being completed right now. Glad to here the Gaillard barrel is working for you in the 6.5x47L. It was my pipe of choice as well.

Nice rig Roberti. Looks like the 6.4x47 Lapua is getting popular enough to be called "Just another 6.5"
All kidding aside yours looks like a great Tacticle /F Class Rifle.

Agreed!
I was going to call my thread.."Yet another 6.5!"
It is a popular cartridge, and from my limited experience, it is popular for a good reason.

A question if I may. I'm about to order an A5 to make my own 6.5X47. How many of you use the adjustable cheekpiece on the A5? If it's something I won't use with a mount/scope similar to yours, I'll forego that option. Thanks.

By the way, nice rifle!

I have been shooting my A5 for the past number of years. The stock fits me very well and I have no desire to make any adjustments. I'm a reasonably average built guy and I imagine that the stock is designed for just that, the average man. If you dont fit this description, Ie monkey arms or a giraffe neck, you might want to invest in the adjustable features that macmillan offers.
