Were those the SVT 40 he had "on special".

Maybe you didn't read his post where he said that he resells broken parts and guns at a discount.

Sean at More Guns is all about what's good for Sean.

Curious again about this post AK. It's similar to this one back in the 12th when you accused me about the product we advertise for sale not being in the country. I never heard an answer to that query. I guess you must know me IRL but I haven't figured it out yet.

Yes AK, Moreguns Supply is all about what's good for me. I'm self employed to support myself and my family, which is what's good for myself and my family. You are right.

PC9, please return your SVT40. I'll refund you 100% of your money for the rifle. I'm getting weary chasing you around CGN watching my name being run through the mud over a 3 minute phone conversation that ended with the phone being hung up in my ear. You win. You can PM me with the instructions on how to get the rifle back to us so you can get your money back.

I've never dealt with Moreguns Supply and don't know Sean from Adam. But after spending a year working for a custom gun maker I learned several things. Stand behind what you sell/say/do 100% of the time. No the customer is not ALWAYS right, he just has to go away thinking he is, that usually results in repeat business. Sometimes a small hit to the pocket book will bring in big rewards in the future. But above all else, DO NOT GET INTO A PISSING MATCH ONLINE WITH A DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER, YOU WILL ALWAYS LOOSE, even if you are RIGHT. Take your licks, take the high road and be the good guy. You look good, the other guy usually tucks his tail and calls it quits and life goes on. You gain prestige and hopefully more business. Be a #### and the whole world see's it.

I have no stake here but in my opinion surplus means used. If i buy or sell a used car it has a taillight warranty. When it leaves my or the sellers sight the deal is done and shall never be spoke of again. I bought a car and drove it for a couple days only to have the starter quit. I didn't go crying for a refund on a 3000$ car nor would i do it for a 400$ rifle. CAVEAT EMPTOR

The "let the buyer beware" attitude is quite prevalent today. However, the Recreational Firearms Community is a relatively small one, and if you are not satisfied, then the word can get around really fast, especially on the Internet and Forums. Some people on these forums think it is all right to peddle off a clunker or junker, and they come out the winner, and they think they are more clever because they pulled a fast one.

On the other hand, there are those people who will never be satisfied, with anything, whatever a person does. Most of the gun owners, buyers, sellers are somewhere in the middle.

The example of the car is interesting. If the car was driven three blocks, and then quit with a major problem, would the new owner not walk back and have a chat with the seller? In this case, the OP seemed to fire three rounds, and the rifle had a major problem.

With the advent of the Internet, a very large percentage of these transactions are done on line, without ever having seen or examined the item first. As a Buyer, you are assuming that the Seller is Legitimate, Honest, and will stand by his product. It is the Seller's responsibility to check items that he sells, so that they are safe, IN THE CONDITION AS ADVERTISED OR STATED, and if in business, a policy or conditions for return, repair or refunds. Not fine print, but if you are proud of your business, state it.

I am almost 70 years old, and have been dealing with guns for over 55 years. I buy and sell guns, and there are two things to consider...Honesty and Integrity. Most people have those two qualities, and you can make a deal over the phone or e-mail, and count on it being fair and acceptable to both parties. Many +$1000 deals are made on a man's word or handshake, but it is a sad sign of the times that this seems to be getting harder and harder to do.

As pointed out, if you are in business, a dis-satisfied customer can cause a lot of havoc if you are not honest and fair with him. Communication is a big part of a business, and it is a two way street.

Personally, if I had received a gun that should have been at least looked at and tried for functioning, and it only fired three shots and seized up, I would have a legitimate complaint with the person who sold it to me.

As another post pointed out, a rifle he received from Trade-Ex had a problem. It was replaced by Trade-Ex without a lot of hassle. I have bought over 15 guns from Trade-Ex, and yes, I did have a problem with one. It was sent back, and Trade-Ex replaced it with another rifle, and shipped to me without a shipping charge. I paid to ship it back, which I considered fair. I think that the service at Trade-Ex is the one a lot of businesses should strive to copy.

I have bought from Moreguns Supply. I prefer to deal with other businesses, no matter how good the prices are.

If I were a betting man, I would bet that either you didn't detail strip and clean the cosmolene out of it, or that the gas setting was on max and you popped a primer fragment into the pin channel which froze it up.

In both cases, this would be YOUR fault - not the dealer's.

wow, i think you guys should be talking this out via the phone. Not running around like children airing dirty laundry. I feel sorry for all these dealers who gotta deal with this (SH-T) on a daily basis.

wow someone needs a Hug...

I can not believe I just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading about someone who purchased a 60 year old surplus rifle for $350 and is pissy because a spring broke. Where in the $350 price is the dealer supposed to find the time to strip a semi auto down, clean and inspect and warranty every working part? Jesus. :slap:

The last guy who shot that gun probably dropped it because it kept jamming and he got himself shot. I think you should just be thankful you weren't shooting it 60+ years ago in Russia; clean it and order a spring already.

Its not about the gun its about the service recieved afterwards and the attitude that seems to come from this guy.

Taking orders for products not in stock without telling me then getting an attitude and basically telling me to go #### myself when I am wondering whats taking so long is piss poor customer service to me.

I didnt start a thread of my own but thought about it.

Not the worst service but the worst I have gotten from a sponsor yet!

I can't believe people are using the fact the its an old surplus gun as an excuse for a dealer not standing behind what they sell. unless the gun is listed as "being sold as is", there's no excuse for a dealer to not offer to take back the gun and return the customers money if the gun fails that quick.

I think that the proper response should have been "send it back, we will look at it for you no charge. If we find it's your fault we may need to charge you for the repair"

Easy and fair to both sides.
