Okay people, Took 2 friends out bear hunting on the weekend. Saturday at 12:00pm. Noon sharp We got this big boy. I was packing my .338 and my buddy Steve had his .444 Marlin. The shot was 187yrds (used the range finder) so I gave Steve my rifle for the shot. He put it down quick. We waited while he bellowed and went through some thrashing on top of the ridge. We then hiked up and Steve put a finisher to the bear with his .444 as the bear was still twitching some.
Bear is 7ft 5 nose to tail and Steve wants a rug done. Bastard just had to shoot a bigger bear than me.;)

WOW! Congrats! You guys have a great area to hunt obviously... I've been out once and saw only a bull moose at 15 feet or so...

:( Still have not loaded up the interbonds. Was finishing up the 200gr Barnes X bullets that came with the gun. But I only have 5 bullets left. Gonna have to get some made up now.

Thanks man.......famous words of the wife. "Steve, go out and shoot a bigger bear than Dave....Hahahahahaha"

Little did she know. I blame her:mad: Now I have to put up with Steve saying my bear was the runt. But mine was fatter,heavier, little bit bigger paws, and the head was wider by half an inch. This bear was a whole foot longer though.:eek:

Took the hide off him right there and quartered him there as well. Took us 4.5 hrs to get all to the truck. Good thing the pack out was down hill:eek:

So far so good to the eating. Yummmmy
 
Beautiful bear. He must have been scrapping with somebody - bit of a cuff on the nose. Looks like you had a great day for it too. Enjoy the rug.
