Another BRNO thread. This one's a 602

I found this 602 in a gun store in NB this week.

It's in 300WinMag, which is a cal I've never heard of in a 602. The mag box is full (H&H) length and it has all the same stuff a reg 602 has.

It came with a Bushnell Trophy 4x12 in a set of Fox rings. Crazy Dave has first dibs on the Bushnell, so save your PMs. We'll have to see if he can afford such a fine scope.

The price was VERY, VERY good so the Visa took a hit to make it come home with me. :dancingbanana:

From your description/story, it sounds like the gunstore you bought it from DIDN'T know what they had, and neither did the person who sold it to them! Excellent score SuperCub...

Cheers

Nice find SC! Is this a project rifle or will you keep her as she is?

I notice that it doesn't have the pop-up receiver peep sight. Did any of the earlier 602's have them? Mine doesn't.

What are you going to build out of that one?

I found two 10,75x68's for dirt cheap two weeks ago but my plastic just laughed and said dream on.

Good score Paul.

By the way, I am sure Davey will be all over that scope. Might as well just send it and let him know the damages.lol

That was my take on it as well. My gain. :)

I think it will be a project, but not sure what. Hard to find one of those actions when you want one, so best to hang one to it.

A .300 Winchester in a 602 is unusual enough that I'd be tempted to leave it as is.
Yea, I was pretty surprised at the chambering and had to look twice to make sure it was a 602.

The trouble is that it weighs 9lbs as pictured, w/o scope, rings or ammo.

I remember that the .300 Win Mag was a standard offering in the 602. I never could understand why. I think I even have an old Wholesale Sports catalogue with it listed.
