Another Canadian Tire store stopped selling ammo

I am happy the Canadian tire finally put a ring for service bell at the ammo display, now if Walmart will do the same.

I often buy at these stores as I can slide ammo purchases in with general household stuff, so my wife does not ding my gun budget.

Really, anybody know what problems they have had in Alberta?

I mix my stuff up between Federal big box 22lr, 270 win, 30-30 win and 300 savage at CT, 22-250 at Wally World, and my unique stuff that they do not carry, 257 wby and 25-06 at gun store.

"...to Merkel..." Where? What's a 98K in .30-06 worth? Or a 160-2 in .375 H&H.
"...only 6 stores left in Canada that sell firearms..." That's not surprising given the enormous amount of BS involved in selling firearms. And the low pay and lack of training for the part timers.
"...seeing Crappy Tire throwin ammo into their dumpsters..." Until the store manager and franchise holder get arrested.

James definitely is. He may get a little to happy when a couple of pallets of brand new firearms come in.

I've been in the store on Mcleod Trail. Thank your boss for his continued support of hunting and shooting sports. He's done a great job of keeping a diverse selection of firearms. It's nice to see a CT that has more then 3 pieces of orange clothing and a cheap selection of fishing rods.

The one Merkel my store has is a 300 win mag I believe. I don't think the Calgary store has any Merkels in stock.....could be wrong. If you wanted a price best thing to do is call one of our stores and ask. I don't deal much with the ordering, when I do most of the time it is when I am ordering something for myself :D . I would give you a ballpark if it was something more common that I have dealt with before.

I also don't blame any of the other Candian Tire stores for not carrying guns. It's rare for us to hire someone that has their PAL so they can sell firearms. Right now my store has only 5 people that can. Hell if one of us is sick it may mean we have a evening where we can't sell any guns. It would be great to get some more staff with PAL's to help out with that but its hard enough just getting staff in general.
