Love me some Project Farm! Neat tests. The wear test is probably massively accelerated and doesn't really reflect field conditions, maybe over the span of decades. But the cleaning and cold weather tests are both neat and relevant to my use cases.
I generally only use Ballistol either after cold-bluing guns (steel wool and Ballistol really evens out the finish and seems to give it a nice foundation of protection) or on new guns I'll pull the barreled action, spray a rag with a bit of Ballistol, then wipe down all the metal surfaces underneath the stock before reassembling.
I generally prefer Hornady One Shot on trigger and bolt pieces, and Wipe Out for cleaning barrels. Once the gun is "ready" in this fashion, I use Hoppe's CLP on a bore snake for break-in and field cleaning and really only use Wipe Out after a session or hunt.
