Finally took the plunge and purchased my first pistol today. Bought a G17 in FDE Brand new.
Looking for recommendations on holsters. Picked up some Cadwell mag holsters at Whole sale sports sale- haven't tried them so no clue if they are any good.

Can't wait for the transfer to go through I'm getting itchy already haha.

Congrats and welcome to the addiction! Nice choice for your first, sweet looking handgun :)
I always recommend Solely Canadian holsters, fantastic holsters made by a CGN sponsor right here in Canada, can't go wrong.
There is a wait time for Tim's holsters, but well worth the wait. Enjoy your new Glock!!

Solely Canadian

G-Code : dont have pictures but very well made and functionnal as well. Lvl2 thumb break works better on my g-code that my SC.

It just released diffently. On the SC you push it to the side and on g-code you push straight down, making it easier to operate no matter how its mounted

For what purpose? For games and general range use, I use the blade-tech owb holster with a dropped offset on a blade-tech competition belt and ghost mag holders. It's a great setup I should bought earlier.

Thanks for the reccomendations! Where do I find those Solely Canadian? I always like to support local when it makes sense.

@Claven Im no where near competition ready but after taking my holster course I plan on taking some tactical shooting courses so I'll probably be mounting on a plate carrier or possibly mid thigh. I will check out those OWB's you reccomended too :) I'm not against hip holsters either however most I've seen are pretty bulky

Going mid thigh would be a mistake (most likely), avoid straps. Get a drop offset to clear your chest rig or war / battle belt. Be prepared to mar up your holster. when hitting the deck. My choice of 5.11 was for these reasons, strong, effective, rocks and debris don't get into the retention mechanism very easily and it's made of thick durable polymer. If your thinking of tactical classes you must replace those sights asap.

Oh and don't be tempted to get a serpa, friends don't let friends use serpa's. Yes, I've had and used several even though I know better. Also, Safariland ALS holsters aren't bad at all.

Thanks agian for all the reccomendations everyone! I've got a few suggestions to start looking at here.
Any 9mm ammo to stay away from or known to have issue in glocks?

I passed on a m&p 2.0, sig 320, as well as a H&K SFP9 in favor of the Glock. I'm excited but also hoping I made the right choice. In a perfect world I'd have all of them. In the real world I'm happy my wife let me pick one.... hahah

None, my Glocks ate everything I put in them. Keep in mind Glocks don't have full case support, so if you have thin brass you may notice a little buldge. No big deal unless you are reloading.

Prefer 124/147gr in the accuracy department.

BS.. Glock barrels are no less supported than any other make out there. Regardless the use of reloads voids warranty on all guns. Accuracy has near zero to do with the ammo when discussing handguns. Shoot what's cheap, a Glock will eat it all.
