So its about time for my first black rifle purchase, and all the reading in the world has only helped me narrow down the choices a bit.
My biggest concern so far is whether or not to get an NR or R for shooting in the Calgary area. I have a range membership for a range with an indoor rifle range but that likely wont keep my satisfied long. Id be extremely interested in some sort of cqb or competition shooting but from my reading im going to have to go aways to accomplish that. Which is a concern with my 10-12 hour work days 6 days a week.
Lets get down to it then.
The XCR is high on the NR list, spending a butt load on a barrel for the acr is on the table too. tavor isnt an option as I am just not digging the looks.
Onto the restricted side of things, heres where it gets tricky. Ive been swooned by the appeal of the DD M4V5, price is also fair and parts readily available. The ACR and SIG 516 Patrol are in competition as well, my fear is not the price but the availability of parts for the piston driven carbines. And parts are a very real concern for me as since getting back into shooting I have been doing it like its going out of style. Id say with range availability I could easily stand to put 1k ammo down range a month easily.
So lets have it, Flame away, Opinions be unleashed. Albertans here is your time to shine with input!
