Hi folks, I've searched through the forum but I didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a M14S norinco ;)
The thing is when I load 1 , 2 , 3 or 4 rounds in any of my 5, or 20/5 mag everything works fine but when I put 5 rounds the rifle jams every shot.
It shoots fine, than the bolt close without any round in the chamber, sometimes a fresh round get caugh by the bolt.Than I have to manually work the action.

Any idea what it could be?
I changed the recoil spring for a new one with silicon/teflon, maybe it's too stiff?
Any suggestion welcome
thanks!

Might be a mag lip problem. I heard they sometimes need to be bent out or in a bit to achieve proper alignment and so on. Or if its happening with all the mags maybe there just not seating properly. If you push down on an empty mag spring, is it smooth and does it push back up nicely? Did you try your mags in another m14? Or try someone else's mag in yours yet? That little block inside the mag well may be the problem. Just find someone with a working m14 and look for subtle differences. Plus clean and lube the rifle properly.

install the mag and give it a good slap... even if you think it's seated fully.
if it's firing all 4 of the first rounds and failing to load up the 5th...... it's either
A) front of mag not seated on oprod spring guide tip at front of mag
B) mag not seating fully at rear and not fully engaging mag release with tab on magazine
C) all your mags are defective and have weak spring pressure
D) all your mag followers are slightly deformed so as to prevent the 5th round from sitting correctly when the bolt comes to pic it up
e)operator error

all 4 of these must be rules out to proceed with any further diagnosis of the patient ;)
could also be some other issue out of too many to list..... if you bought it from marstar..... they have a iron clad guarantee ;)

on a side note...... I have now personally owned and fired 17 of these chinese m14s rifles and NOT ONE failed to feed and fire as it was supposed to with every single mag i've tried..... ruling out operator error is the first step.... Know your rifle and it's functions..... only then can you start to trouble shot an issue like this

If it's from marstar.... return it for one that functions as it should

Hi back, I just wanted to give you some update
My problem was my recoil spring, I changed it for a longer one coated with silicon, appears to be too long and was causing jamming issue with more than 3 cartridges.
So I went back with the norinco spring and now it works wonder!
In case this happen to someone else, just keep your original spring or cut the new one.
Can't wait for Hungry's answer to tell me; I told ya ! :p

SO now My #### won't fall down anymore hehe
