Took home another match win with my Modern Varmint yesterday! That makes for two overall wins this year and a 2nd place.

Smaller local match at a club outside of Prince Albert, SK. Just 26 competitors overall, though some stiff competition from Robinson Arms/Vortex sponsored shooters made for a tight race. My rifle has between 1500 and 2000 rounds through it now, and has been running flawlessly since the beginning.

*Edit: Apparently the original video has stirred up some controversy over mags... please enjoy this shotgun only stage in place of the original video:

Time to clean up the guns and pack up for the BC Redneck 3 Gun Championship next week in 100 Mile House!

- Awesome job Jeff!

What is your configuration for the modern varmint?

Thanks!

I am running a light weight barrel, Fortis keymod hand guard, magpul MOE grip, milspec CTR stock, and a 2 stage Timney trigger that I had ATRS put in. I prefer a 2 stage for precise shots once my blood gets pumping a little harder on some 3 gun stages... gives me that extra fraction of a second of pause to make sure I break a clean shot. Brake is a precision armament M4-72, which is quite aggressive. I can actually feel the gas hitting my arm as I am shooting haha. Scope is a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6 with mil reticle.

How did the Robinson Arms XCRs do?

Xcr's ran just fine as far as I know, that was Ryan B and Del Z shooting those on the results, as well as 1 other I think. I shot an XCR myself for several years, good rifles, just don't have the options that you have putting together a MV. Difficult to get the accuracy to the same level on the long stroke gas piston vs the tried and true direct impingement of the MV. The receivers are quite heavy on the XCR as well, so it's tough to cut weight if you like a lighter rifle. I still like the XCR, but there is no comparison with the MV in my opinion.

Thanks!

You shoot a lot before reloading, what mag you use?
