Another New Low for Canpar

Only ever dealt with the local Canpar lady here once to ship some old crusty 8mm Mauser surplus to Toronto.
It was easy.
She showed up at scheduled time, package made it just fine to address.
All was good.
I guess it depends on the area and who the local rep/worker is for them. It did feel like the greasiest deal I ever did though lol
Make a phone call. Pay on the website, print off the label and stick it on the box. Random person X shows up at door around 5pm in an old white van.
Takes the box, says thanks and I never hear from them again.

Screw canpar. Crappy post or even better greyhound. Yes you have to go to the station but service is good quick and reasonably priced. Ammo I gave up on that. Just go buy it

all can par work in bc with execption of the lowermainland is done by loomis now .The parent company transforce will be shuting down the canpar depot within a year.

My Canpar guy is great also. Last month when I got my 7.62x39 he asked me what I paid and that he is a gun club member and shoots pistols in a neighboring city.

Every winter all the couriers in my (Rural) area are too wussy to drive off payment not just Canpar

I have never had any issues with canpar, they attempt delivery twice then goes to the shop for pickup. I go and pick it up. That simple. This is in manitoba

Had decent luck with Canpar after leaving signed note...UPS on the other hand won't give you that option if signature is required....

It is not up to UPS. The shipper chooses the options for shipping. If a shipper picks a signature required label, then the package must have a signature.

If you don't like it, tell your shipper not to put a signature required label on it. It's that simple.

If you can go to your job and disobey or ignore company policies - have at it.

Well, last week a rife I shipped to BC from AB Expedited Canada Post took 12 days! I have filed for a refund of the $38. I could have walked there in that time................Harold

In both my 2 experiences with Canpar, my packages have showed up 4 and 7 days late respectively. Their tracking only updates until is reaches Moncton, and then the package is basically MIA until it shows up on my door. My last package took 12 days to get from Moncton NB to St. John's NL, which I thought was super excessive. I guess it's because there isn't really a Canpar depot here in NL, they just subcontract it out to local companies. With that said the office staff and delivery drivers have been nice enough, even though the driver usually has the no answer pick up at the depot card filled out before even knocking on my door.

"Expedited" appears to mean something else to the folks at Canada Post. I don't even bother paying the extra for expedited when it seems to take about the same length of time to deliver something.

As for CanPar, never had a problem with them. They've delivered firearms, ammunition and reloading components without any issue.

I get Canpar stuff from Canada Ammo in 3 days usually. I make sure to ship to my work so that I don't miss any shipments and that helped a lot.

So... with orders from CA sent by Canpar (signature required). Can anyone sign for the package or does it have to be the person it is addressed to?

I guess I`m lucky, never had issues with any carrier. Canpar delivered my ammo order yesterday. He #####ed a bit at the weight of the box (large ammo order!) but all was nice. He even put it inside the house since it was so heady.
