Picked up my new (to me) Savage 93 BTVSS this morning, unfortunately did not have time to take it to the range today. Got it home this evening and gave the barrel a good cleaning and pulled the stock and went at it with the Flitz metal cleaner and polish and then a couple coats of Flitz Gun Wax.

Tomorrow will be range day for it. Limited selection of .22 WMR ammo around here it seems so I will be trying CCI and Winchester.

Always did love the look of the BTVSS models from Savage. I have a MKII and 93R17, but both have the tupperware stocks. However, I've had nothing but excellent performance with mine. Good luck with the new rifle, I'd be interested in the accuracy of the WMR because that is what I am eying up for my next rifle, and it is more than likely going to be another savage.

i was lookin at one of those in a 17 hmr .the stainless is very bright .let us know how it shoots .

Nice rifle!!! If you can get your hands on some Remington 33gr accutip-v's I would try them out. My WMR loves em!! Be sure to post up some pic's of your groups.

Went to the range this morning and tried this new rifle out. Once I finally got a problem I was having with the gun sorted out and fixed, I like:D. Set up on both the 50 and 100 yard lines but it was a bit windy and everytime I tried shooting at the 100 mark the cold wind picked up and was blowing right in my eyes:mad:, so I pretty much just shot on the 50.

The ammo I tried was Winchester 40g JHP and CCI High Velocity 40g JHP.

The center shots are sight in shots with mostly the Winchester. The upper corners are Winchester and the lower corners are the CCI.

Cool! I been looking at one of those, only the lefty model. My family has a history of Savage 22's, although I have a closet full of Browning and Winchester stuff. Savage looks to me like they are trying hard to be innovative of late, with the accutrigger and rifles such as yours. Enjoy!

I've had my eye on one of these for a while now, and now that I have it, definately no regrets. It is proving to be an even better rifle then I had originally thought.

Nice Choice! I just picked up a model 93FV with the 'tupperware' stock. I am looking foreward to putting some rounds through it. Have you had a chance to try out any other types of ammo?

No, just the Winchester and CCI. That was all that's available at Canadian Tire and Norris's, the place I bought the rifle.

Unfortunetly they don't make these in a left hand version... the .22 WMR that is. I would own one if they made them. The thumb hole stock lefties are only available in .22lr and .17. I've got the .22lr version in left hand and it is incredible... after some lightening of the trigger. ;)
