At 78 , I promised myself not to buy anymore guns but nice side by sides ate like my love for petite brunettes - loved them all since I was 14!
This latest is the Fabarm Autumn - was looking for a straight stocked version with splinter forend. That was until I picked up and shouldered this. I never liked a beavertail but this s described as a semi-beavertail and is so diminutive that it has the feel of a splinter. Anyway it's now mine -- all 6.5lbs and balances exactly on the hinge. Going to break her in on skeet this weekend.

That's a fine looking shotgun Grouser!
I just picked up a couple from another CGN member , a good buddy of mine
The Superposed Lightning was what I was after, but when he sent the pics of my Holy Grail ( even though I am a confirmed SxS nut) I could not resist BOTH!
That 31TC certainly lives up to its reputation having a a ball bearing smooth action!LOL

WOW ! That certainly is stunning !
Is that an older Fabarm production, or a current one grouser ? Either way, it's an eyeful, as are Cat's treasures !
The shotgun fraternity on here have some ABSOLUTELY A-MAY-ZING shotguns !!!

Those beaver tail forends are really nice for extended shooting for sure, especially when it's hot out !
I always did like them although some did not fit me as well as others.
waiting patiently for a range report!

I prefer blondes...oh wait we are talking about SXS's and Grouser your recent addition sure is pretty !
The Case hardening adds to her glow.
At 78 and still out there in the wild chasing birds or on the field with the boys is what keeps you young at heart.
Good Score and thanks for putting another sxs for me to search for and consider.
Regards,
Rob

Hey John ..... That's a beauty right there. Very nice.

I'm still carrying that SKB M100 20ga I got off you years ago. It's perfect in every way except it's missing a trigger. :)

The beavertails are nice for keeping the hands off the barrels for sure. It's the cut back to the reciever is to sharp of an angle on some guns for me. It catches my hand weird. My 10ga is nice and rounded and I like it. However I have a 12ga that I'd tempted to shave down the wood to eliminate the angle.

Either way the fabarm is a very pretty gun.

Yes…….and no. IMO, if the barrels get too hot to handle it’s fine to set it aside to cool snd shoot a different one for awhile. Hot barrels are a bigger problem when shooting black that with smokeless but smokeless can get awfully hot as well, just takes more shots. I have a little .410 hammer sxs with Damascus barrels and while it is supposedly proofed for smokeless, I shoot black anyways. Tiny Splinter forend. That is a nice thing about shooting with others, time for barrels to cool between stations. When I shoot at home, I take a couple guns do I can swap them out ehen they start up get hot. Bottom line (for me) is that if the barrels get too hot to hold the gun comfortably, rather than hiding that fact behind a big bulky forend. To each his own of course. A buddy that I shoot skeet with is into sxs’s (not as hard core as I but a sxs fan none the less). However, his likes couldn’t be much different than mine. He likes beaver tail, I like splinter, he like single trigger, I prefer double, I prefer hammer guns, he prefers hammerless (has a herd of Win 23’ in almost every iteration). He also prefers pistol grip and I prefer English (straight) grip and he likes ejectors and I prefer extractors. The only thing he gets right is two barrels side by side 😂
