Another newb Norc M305 owner question

Pics to come if I have time tomorrow... filed a bit of the trigger assembly tab hole so it would fit just right. Snapped in with a slap, no problem. Originally I was gonna file the stock but was having problems with it, so just filed the little tab where it fits just a smidge. Fit right in like a glove, doesn't come out without quite a few pounds of force pulling backwards... but I can slap it in now when reassembling. Made sure while filing that I didn't get any steel shavings into the group (and obviously did it away from the rest of the assembly... brushed it clean and re-greased it, works like a charm now.

Well here's an image. Didnt' loosen the trigger guard at all but expanded the hole slightly, slaps in clean now. Still several pounds of force if you wanna pull it back and in slowly, but otherwise locks up real nice and doesn't unlock without serious effort.

Do I get my amateur gunsmithing badge now?
 
PS the wear on the tab is literally not my doing from tools, it's literally just trying to slap it in the last day or so, haha.
 
Glad to hear that it worked out without resorting to major metal removal.

Be sure to perform a full function test before attempting to send rounds down range.

Anything I should do besides running the action, pulling the trigger and dropping the hammer, then running it again and making sure the safety stays engaged?
 
The trigger after assembly test is very important .

1. #### the action and test the safety
2.Release the safety and fire the action and keep trigger pulled to the rear.
3.Keeping trigger to the rear #### the action and see if the hammer follows the bolt forward . If it does you will need to remove some material from under the trigger pads.
4.If the hammer stayed to the rear release the trigger and you should hear a click . Squeeze trigger and the hammer should release . repeat this a few times .

Cool, thanks! Ran through it a few times this morning (had already seen the test on YouTube and wanted to be sure there wasn't more), no issues. :) Will run through a more detailed takedown and inspection with those links when I get home tonight, thanks!
