Another newbie from edmonton

Hi all

I'm another one from Edmonton and just happened to stumble here when i was searching for import rules from the U.S. I have shot many firearms with friends of mine out in the bush but I have never had one to call my own. I'm taking my P.A.L in 2 week or so and hopefully after a few more weeks I will have enough cash to purchase a rifle.(Uni is a big drag on ones finances but hey i'm almost done;)) I'm looking to get into hunting as well as target/range shooting. I look forward to talking with all of you and reading the plethora of information available here.
 
Hi and welcome. Just a note on your PAL. It can take Firearms Canada 6 months to get your licence to you. Hopefully you don't have to wait that long but many people out there have had to wait for them to process the application.
 
wow up to 6 months, I didn't think it would be that long:mad:. Oh well, i guess it gives me more time to read and learn about the art.Thanks for the heads up.
 
Welcome wcor, there is a ton of info and great people on this site. Something you should think about is supporting a pro gun organization such as Canadian Shooting Sports Assoc, they have a web page and with all the crap in Ontario re: handgun bans etc. we need all the members and financial support we can get.:wave:
 
Welcome aboard. A lot of CGN members shoot out at the Genesse range south of Waubamum. Maybe we'll run into you some weekend.
 
Welcome. I just joined CGN myself and I am from the Edmonton Area. I took my courses at Phoenix Range in Edmonton, and I just checked the status on my PAL and RPAL at the CFC website. The status of my application is "approved". I sent in my paperwork in the beginning of December, and the site mentions that it will take 45 days to get everything back to the applicant.

If they are telling the truth (which can of course be debated), then I should receive it anytime. You may not have to wait 6 months.
 
Holy crap!! You can spell plethora!!! Oh well, you can still enjoy yourself, meet new friends, and share your knowledge and experiences with like-minded individuals here. Hope you're no too hung up on punctuation!:(
