Another newbie issue i guess...(new stock issue)

Hi Again everyone,

Okay so today i have decided to drop my Polytech M305 in a new synthetic Springfield Armory stock. The trigger group close pretty damn tight in it.

I racked the bolt and it got stuck open, with little force i was able to close it but still it does not close freely like it should. Anyone ever seen this issue?

I have seen this issue with my Norinco 2007 M14S , there was a burr/dent in the rear part of the action on the right side by guide rod cut out where it is wider to let the op rod come free from the action for disassembly. I had to remove the burr because it would catch when I tried to release the op rod upon cocking. If this isn't the issue, be aware that the inletting between a Norinco M14 action and M1A isn't quite the same. On my 2007 Norinco M14S with a synthetic and walnut SA M1A stock, the trigger closed with great difficulty and the trigger reset wouldn't engage when I cocked the action with the trigger in the rearward (fired) position. I had to fix this by increasing the inletting on the right side of the stock. There is a sticky from Morpheus at the top of this page outlining this issue. The extra stress from the trigger group and the stock could be binding your action...
 
If it is your stock/action fit (inletting issue) - you should also see a gap between the bottom of the action and the stock from the side (hold it to the light and you will see light come through) towards the rear of the action (by the heel). I recommend that you take a pencil and outline your action on the stock. Using a sanding attachment on a rotary tool (i.e. dremel) you can slowly remove material on the right side of the stock - just make sure it is even. It took less than an 1/8th of an inch to have the stock/action fit tightly. As soon as I did this everything worked perfectly. Just make sure it passes the function test! Good luck.
