OK, I de-bubbafied this one this summer but never got to taking pics and such. Well now I'm posting it on the EE I needed to get some pics, so since I went to that effort, I'm cross posting here. It's a '43 Long Branch that went through FTR in Fazakerly (date not present even on the new 5 groove barrel). This being the case I did my best to return her to her former glory using Faz FTR appropriate parts, and managed that with a Fazakerly beech forearm and N74 butt. Numbers are matching electropencil from FAZ on receiver, barrel and bolt and original LB stamp on socket. I like it when Faz didn't scrub the rifles. Magazine however has no discernible SN.

Anyway here it is. Bubba eat your heart out.

Pics.

It took some patience to get the receiver a nice tight fit, but I admit it seemed almost too easy. Especially compared to that No1. I'm still pissing with. Although admittedly even with a new forearm it required some shimming to get the up pressure right. As that is not factory however I removed it prior to posting it on the EE, being a personal mod and not a factory component. Sadly I haven't put many test rounds through her to really get it checked out and tweaked, but I doubt you could get a more snug fit on the receiver by glass bedding it. If it doesn't sell I'll get it out to the range again, but the wind out here all last month was too stupid to really do any fitting trials or even round development and I was too busy to get out and shoot this past summer.

Lou you never sent me your mailing address for that nosecap, you still want it?

Excellent job, what is your next project??

I'm still fiddling with a 1918 SMLE with CDN ownership marks and a LB marked barrel. I got it sight unseen at what seemed a reasonable price from a friend's uncle that supposedly took good care of it, but it's a mess. If it weren't for the markings... the other is my M1917 that I've been threatening to get to around to which needs a major splice in the forearm to put it back together as I don't want to loose the really nice RCAF markings on the otherwise nice stocks. I'm also seriously thinking of getting one of the "as found" Martini Henry's from AIM
