Hi folks,

I know it's been a while, sorry I've been busy these past few months with extra non-firearm-related things :)

I just finished this No1Mk3*, Enfield arsenal, 1917. It's one firing pin short of being ready for the shooting range.

I got the barreled action with the rear sight that can be adjusted for windage (which works), quite happy about that. The wood and metal band, nose cap etc. is pretty much all "DP" stuff from Springfield Sporters.

About 15 hours of work, not including the wait between each linseed oil coat of course :)

Hey Lou, I'm glad that one worked out so well for you. If I had all the parts at the time to fix it, I would have kept it. It sure looks good now, nice work, let us know how it shoots, John
 
Thanks John, can't wait to try it. As you can imagine from our conversations it probably will find a resting place in my gun safe :)

Rifleman1911, a few places have these parts; most in the US. The ones I used for this refurb needed a lot of work (that's why they were so cheap to buy...)

Thanks guys, much appreciate. Another No1Mk3 is under way, but the forend I had left for it has a fatal crack, transverse, right where the middle barrel "ring" and its screw go in the forend. So I'll get an extra forend in my next parts order and get busy...

Pblatzz, I kind of lost count about two years ago. I'm somewhere between "not too many" and "not nearly enough" ;)
 
I know, I know WT... Sorry... But that was walnut or something dark like that, not my fault... I shall do better next time... :D
 
Well the pace has been somewhat slower than usual this summer, but I'l try to do better this fall :D

Here's the latest finished one. It's a 1918, Enfield Arsenal, No1Mk3*. I refurbed this one for a dude in the Saguenay region in QC.

Nothing out of the ordinary for that job; I had to shim the spot where the sear lugs contact the forend, and trim a little bit of the nose cap (the hole was too tight on the muzzle, making contact).

Very nice work, I refurbed my Dad's #4 Mk1* last year, and I am trying to get my buddy to sell me his Bubba'd 1916 #1 Mk3 so I can do the same to it....
