Another Norc that can't shoot.

If your base an pinion works, yes you can just buy an aperture. But most Norcs, including mine had a junk base and pinion. And I went with the S&J because I wanted to support a Canadian business. All the upgraded spring guides are pretty much the same, there's only so much product development you can do there. However, if you go with an American spring guide you need a USGI spring. S&J's comes with a new spring, but works with the Norc spring.

The s and j looks good. I'll probaly good for it. As for the appature what's purpose to the hooded sight. I like the look of it. Is it also worth it to upgrade the front sight.

An S&J spring and spring guide and National Match sights won't make any rifle with a stock barrel and trigger shoot better. Consistency is mote important than group size too. If your rifle does that 2.8" all the time you have a great rifle.

Yeah the spring guide does in fact make a world of difference. I did this after replacing mine, back to back test.

well, strictly mechanically speaking he's right. changing out the sight, sight spring, and guide just gives you better sights which will shrink groups in the sense that it removes a point of failure in the interaction between shooter and rifle, but the rifle is still functionally the same as before accuracy wise. Specifically those changes will improve sight alignment or make it easier. (this is all of course assuming that they meant sight spring and guide and not the guide rod and spring in the action)

Gonna try my hand at bedding this thing into a USGI fiberglass stock this weekend. See what it'll do.

Before you bed that USGI stock drill out the front rivets and replace them with tactical looking Allen head screws. Send me a PM and then we can get you a pair of the correct looking screws Allen head just for cool factor! :)

Cheers and keep helping them noooobs out there!
