Here is another Norinco police model, my dads. I added a few parts to this one for him that I had in the parts bin to make it IDPA legal. Added a regular slide stop and mag release, magwell from Marstar, some Wolff springs, 18.5lb recoil, extra power main and firing pin springs and a strip of grip tape to the front strap, this in my opinion is a kick ass 1911 for the $$$ that was invested into it and it shoots like a house on fire.

Sweet Steve! I feel like selling my P345 and getting one but I swore I would never sell a gun again. Wifey would be upset if I bought another .45 plus the fact that I can't afford it right now. I do see one in my future though. Lookin forward to seeing it first hand.

Nice....

I've replaced the slide stop and mag release in mine as well. Plus added double diamond hardwood grips. Just waiting for a McCormick adjustable aluminum trigger to make an appearance & I'll be done with mine, too. ;)

Yeah, they are a great value for the money....

Hang on, I heard all Norincos were crap  .

Back to reality - nice looking pistol, these models really do look much better, especially without the extended do-dads. The magwell looks great with the forward serrations, too, kind of balances it out.

Awesome job on the upgrades! What make are those grips and how do you find the magwell. Is it money well spent? I was thinking of adding a magwell to my np29. If you could point me to the magwell on their site I would appreciate it. Searched for it and no luck.

How is the trigger pull? All of the previous norc 1911's I've owned out of the box had horrible stiff gritty pulls of at least 8 to 10 pounds.

Thanks guys, this did turn out really good.

The Grips are VZ Grips.

The magwell is from Marstar, on the home page there is a window for after market 1911 parts, it is in there, here is the link, it is about half way down. http://www.marstar.ca/Colt1911p/index.shtm

As for the trigger, I left it stock, he like is that way, so why mess with it.

The only other improvement to me would be a set of sights, but not needed, more of a want, a set of Novaks woudl accent this gun nicely.

Personally for me, I would like a 9mm, so an NP29 is what I am looking for, but will pretty much be identical to this one when I am done with it. If anyone knows of one, please PM me.

If I did not read MADE IN CHINA on the side, I would not think any different. And after owning one in the past I know how well they shoot.. Nice job..

Steve,

I've been looking at these for awhile...if they are anything like the original Norinco 1911 I bought about 10 years ago - they are fantastic! Nice job!

Jeff.
