Well patience paid off and I am now the recipient of another set of shotguns that aren't twins but are darned close. I picked up a very good condition Perazzi MT6 after a couple years of looking and passing on a few rough examples to get to this one. This one started out life as none other than Susan Nattrass' back up gun for competing at the Olympics. Its the same year manufacture as my TMS(1977). It wear 29.5" barrels and included 8 first generation factory screw chokes. It came with two stocks, the original trap stock which the next owner, a friend of Miss Nattrass' cut and shaved down to fit him for ISSF skeet shooting. He fell on ill health and shortly before passing wanted a good shooting buddy to own the gun and give it a good home so the fellow bought it and had the stock seen on it in the pictures made to fit him in the UK by Bidwell Shooting Systems. He too is an ISSF shooter and decided recently to sell the gun. The gun came with it's original case, choke wrench, stock bolt wrench etc..
After a few calls to confirm the info on the gun and to a friend who serviced it last by whom I was assured it was in very good condition I pulled the trigger and purchased it. I now have my old school Perazzi trap pair. Thursday evening I tried it out on a round of doubles and when I did my part it absolutely crushed them and is a very soft shooting gun. As it is the current 50/50 pattern will take some getting used to or I may just add a Meadows Industries stick on comb pad to raise my POI to 60/40. The gun is lightning fast to swing and smooth as silk so I am catching the second target much quicker as it is still climbing so a little higher POI may be better than the 50/50 pattern. Time will tell. Here are a couple pics of the pair together. The MT6 is on bottom in the first pic and on left in the second. On another note I finally got to try out the TMS with the new PFS stock. All I can say is WOW! I wish I'd bought one years ago and I wish they made a grip to fit the MT6 so I could put a PFS on it!
