cccan just dropped this one off today.

He had it blued, bedded it and refinished the Classic stock....I had barreled it a few months back....

all the parts came from CGN...

the action is a 1963 vintage 700 from an old blued/stainless barreled 7Mag I got from "45stomp"

the barrel is an A&B from "gunpro"

the stock is a Remington factory Classic from "purple"

even borrowed the reamer from "guntech"..thanks Dennis.

It'll probably get a 6-24X Elite mounted for some load testing and then a 3-9X Leupold later.
Now I need dies and a black floorplate...anyone have one they want to trade for a silver one?

257

I sent you a PM today Rick with a little info on mine I built on a 700 action, the reamer you used from Dennis is the same one he used on mine and it shoots .5'' groups with more than one load. If you want the loads and reloading info from what I have tested send me a PM and I will be happy to send it to you. If you like yours as much as I like mine you will never sell it.

if Supercubs avatar was a gun, that'd be it!
Took me a minute to get that joke, but it did finally come. ;)

Nice rifle ..... I'd try those Nosler ABs in that rifle. I shot a small buck yesterday with my 257Roberts using ONE Nosler AB. In one side and out the other. Almost a bang/flop and with 9 minutes left in the season. :)

That looks really nice. I like the contrast that the bottom metal provides. If you want a black floorplate you could always have that one guncoated or finished with black oxide.

FWIW, i have had a couple of stainless floorplates that needed to be black so i degreased/cleaned them, primed them, and painted them black with paint from Revy/Rona and no one can tell or has noticed....

Rick,

I've got one now too! A .257 weatherby, I mean. :) Mine's just a Weatherby Vanguard, but it's a good start, I figure. :D

I'd be interested in any loads you find particularly "snuggly".

Jeff.
