Finally put my "quit smoking" reward together, a 12FVSS with a 6x24 B&L 4200. First trip outwas just for sight in with a bunch of misc ammo I had kickin' around the shop. The indications were it was gonna shoot though! For my first batch of test loads I thought I would see how the 1 in 9 barrel handled 60gr Sierra's. Had a bit ofIMR 4064 left in a can, used that up to get rid of it. YES, I know it is a less than ideal powder. Did a little load workup and:

That's .322 not 3.22 group. If that's what a load with less than ideal components can do, I can hardley wait to try some match grade components!

LOL Welcome to the Joe's-that-have-quit-smokin'-4-months-ago-and-are-buying-Savages-in-.223 club! That makes two of us! Sept 23 was my date.

I am more than pleased with this rifle. Now if only the weather would warm up.

Doing the same thing, but my name aint Joe, Stevens for the .223 and Savage 114 AC for the '06 later this year. Quit the weed in november. Congrats Joe way to motivate!

I've only worked up one load for my new Savage and it's pretty damn accurate. 80 gr Nosler Btips out of my M10 FCM Sierra in 243 are grouping between 1/2" and 3/4". I'm not done with the load yet. Still haven't played with seating depth yet.

Good goin' Joe:D. So far I've only used factory ammo in my Sav. 223 but the accuacy is amazing.
Good going on no smoking, I also quit smoking 18 years ago now,:D I was over 2 packs a day. Hmmmm wonder how many guns my reward should be:D ;)

Well at todays prices for smokes, not counting interest, a quick punch on the calculator tells me you can spend about $78,000.00.

So? Whatcha gonna get first?:D
