This time it's an 870 Wingmaster. not an express.
So we were at the range shooting some clays. I brought the fairly unused wingmaster out assuming flawlessness. Boy was I disappointed. Extractor issues constantly. Which led me to inspect the bolt group a little better. The chrome on the bolt face is peeling off. this shotgun has not received much use at all. i wouldn't even put the round count over 100. I don't recall having that many issues with it until now.
The extractor was definitely the problem. its gritty and sticks when i play with it.
I picked it up in late 2011 from cabellas in edmonton (this is 2 out of the 3 firearms now from them which were duds. to this day i advocate not shopping there) This is the first remington I owned personally. I did buy a model 700 last year from Sail in Ottawa which after a few days the finish started to peel off. I returned it immediately and a few months later Sail sent me a brand new one. I'm happy with Sail's customer service. The people there were nice about it and I didnt have to fight with them like I did with Cabellas over the S&W 629.
So the questions I have:
Should I worry about the chrome coming off?
Should I polish the extractor myself a bit to smooth it out?
Is this fixable by warranty and who is the rep I should talk to here in Canada?
