Another SKS Kill

To Skippy: I did that to give myself some pressure in that I had to make a good shot or otherwise no buck no meat.

To Speckfire: Yes I do get half if we went together and my friend shot his game. That was what happened when I helped another friend bag his LEH doe and his 3x3 last month.

"Rabid Anti" mode ON

Hunting with an SKS??? Don't you folks know that the SKS is an evil, nasty, smei-automatic assault rifle, and serves no useful purpose? Certainly it cannot be used for hunting or target shooting, or even collecting! According to the Coalition for Gun Confiscation website, if you shoot a deer with an SKS, it INSTANTLY turns into a bleeding puddle of ooze, and the meat is UNUSABLE as it has been PULVERIZED!!! Targets shot with an SKS are SHREDDED TO BITS!!! The SKS should be BANNED, I tell you... BANNED!

"Rabid Anti" mode OFF. ;)

Good thinking, thats responsible SKS hunting.
No sarcasm intended, just in case you thought I was patronizing you.

So are we confident yet? I'm thinking to go get something else home by the end of this month. :) Will make the shot as clean as possible to give the anti's more ammo. :p

Yah know my gunsmith was telling me about some local guys that are reloading surplus ammo with what they call "thumpers"...ie 180 grain bullets. :D

I'm not sure what loads they are using, and I'd expect the safe pressure, and performance levels would be dubious, but I expect more folks will be experimenting with the 7.62x39 in the next few years. :D

:) Not my cup of tea, man! I'd rather lean my SKS on a dead bloody animal and take a picture to show them.

I don't know if the bullet will have enough charge in the casing if they use 180gr, but the surplus powder should be more powerful.
