Another SKS that uses Type-81 magazines

I think it's an awesome design, but I also think people are now going to be very reluctant to buy anything in this country resembling the kind of rifle the government just banned. Absolutely nothing is safe so long as these limp-wristed, Soviet-wannabe, tyrannical b@stards have the power to instantly ban lawfully purchased and peacefully enjoyed property by mere decree.

Even if a rifle is legal to own at the moment, you can bet there are lazy cops out there who will lay charges for "possession of prohibited firearm" based solely on how a rifle looks and "let the courts figure it out"; all at the expense of the gun owner being charged and dragged through the punishing court system, which is too often presided over by judges who have donated to the Liberal Party and whose thinking is in lock step with the regime.

That's been the case ever since the a$$hole communist wannabes in Ottawa realized years ago that the OIC process could be used to ban guns. If people still want to go out onto crown land to shoot without running afoul of the RCMP, the SKS (and this variant) are good choices.

I modified an Sks to take ak mags a long time ago before the type 81 was ever here. It was pretty simple when you just sort of hold them up together and see what needs to be done. Biggest thing is grinding down the sides of the lower portion of the bolt to make it thin enough to fit between the feed lips. Then a tab for the front of the mag well and a release lever which I made out a piece of 1/2 x 1/2 square tube annd a piece of flat stock and welded to the trigger guard. Put it in a chote synthetic stock. Always sort of regretted it as non modified sks’s climbed in value. Stripper clips work great

Got an extra SKS stock for my Norinco 'SK22' to paint, as I didn't want to mess with the original one... wanted to see how it'd look. So far I'm really happy with this rifle; zero malfunctions. My favorite part is the forward left-side charging handle, though the bolt release has been even handier.
