Another SKS that uses Type-81 magazines

Or just get a type 81 and an SKS. If someone put a built in microwave on an SKS some of you guys would buy it. GG

I think these are better, ergonomically, than either of those platforms. Though the aftermarker T81 ambi safeties are better than the SK-22 one.

It's too bad the SKS hadn't evolved in this direction sixty or seventy years ago.

A hell of a lot better than this thing, which was the definition of a "cope gun"

The only thing I've ever disliked on your ingenuity is the design of the added pistol grip. I'm sure I've seen wood pistol grips for the ar15 on the interwebs that you could possibly trim to fit your machined trigger group to really make it pop.

Very cool. I've still got a few tapco SKS mags that work, but I've got a lot more type 81 mags. As soon as I got the type 81 I thought about doing something like this, good to see I'm not the only one. How well has the rear sight mounted red dot held up? No issues with it losing zero?

Such an awesome side-by-side comparison!

Interesting how the overall length is almost the same, but the SKS receiver is shorter.
It makes the Type-81 length of pull look, well, Soviet.

As a point of interest, the SK-22 typically has about the same length of pull as an M16-A2

i dont think lar15 adapter is a cope gun. those are 10 round mags and feed entire clips. dont need to double these up with that mag coupler.

I don't see the point of a big sticky out thing at the bottom of your rifle when you are limited to 5 rounds. You are adding complexity and an increasing possibility of mis feeds, extra weight and poorer ergonomics for no reason that I can see.

On the other hand I admire your efforts and do think it is kind of cool.

Right?? Just like AR15s, Bren2s, and everything else with pinned 30-rd mags, everyone should just have 5-rd mags. No point in having larger mags. No scenario where any of us would ever need them. Heck, pinned mags should just be banned.

Its not only the capacity, ts the fact that adding an external magazine is likely to be less reliable than the factory set up. Also you can't shoot so well prone.

Like I said I admire the innovation. I just dont see the rationale.

SKS D used AK mags and was just as reliable as the internal mag. There is no issue going prone.
