Hey all,

So I built my SLR. Before the build the upper and Lower were fairly tight fitting. Now that it has been built, it is so tight they will not close up. I can get it to about 1/4” from being closed. Then it’s seized up. Is was very well lubricated, and I took my sweet time building it, but it is completely non fireable.

Prior to the finish, I ensure the mag release and bolt stop worked as per spec, the trigger and safety work, nothing is sticking out into the upper from the lower. Any idea why the mating rails are so ludicrously tight?

2 things I found with mine,
1 the hammer must be released to get the two halfs to mate property.
2 I have the elfman 3 gun trigger in mine and had to file the top of the trigger box if it is up even slightly it will bind and not be able to fully close.
What trigger do you have in yours??
Also maybe a small bur on one of the T slots?

Hey.

Been chewing on it all night. Used a three piece mil spec trigger. I thought maybe it’s a proud trigge box, or the bolt catch. I already tapped the trigge box down. Maybe i should trim the bottom of it.

Make sure the hammer spring isn't pinched between the trigger box and the receiver. If it fit together without the trigger in it, there's no reason it shouldn't fit together now if you assembled it correctly.

Might also be misalignment between the safety selector holes in the trigger box and the receiver. But I guess if your safety isn't stiff as #### (?), and you have the trigger box screw tightened down (?), that probably isn't your issue.

It was a combination of the trigger box being proud by a few thou. Plus a trigger spring misalignment. I reset it all, and seated it properly. Smooth as glass.

Until I charged it. My TNA brand charging handle failed on the very first use. (Retaining hook?) little hook on the handle itself folded like a fish hook, jamming the gun up completely.

Gun is now complete, save one charging handle.

There has been a few reported cheap charging handles breaking. Probably just a cheap knock off from China made out of the wrong material. Go buy a proper one from a reputable manufacturer.
