I posted this at the end of an old thread, but nobody kept answering, so I've begun an entirely new one.

OK, last week I was at the gun show, where I picked up a nice pair of Coco grips/stocks for my growing Smitty collection. NIB, the label reads "Ahrends RETRO TARGET STOCKS: S&W N Frame; Round to Square".

I'm confused; I expected them to be a bolt-on conversion, but not so fast....

Looks to me like my (3 yr old) 686 has a 'round butt', and these new stocks have the same external shape as my older (29-2 & 27-2) stocks (square butts).

So here's the thing: These new Cocos don't fit the 29 or the 27, ("N"s) nor do they fit my Model 60 (round butt, "J" frame.
My fervent hope is that they will fit the 686 ("L" frame). …

(Dam! How many different stocks do these Smitty revolvers HAVE??) e.g. 1911? Luger? SAA? "one size fits all". But for Smittys??

It's alphabet soup! W-T-F????

Will these new stocks fit any of my S&Ws??

It is the internal shape of the frame that matters. Your N-frames are square butt and these fit a round butt as advertised.

Don't think those will work, if you want target grips go on eBay, someone in Thailand is making just about any wood revolver grip you can think of, and range from 40-70cad with free shipping
