I really liked the idea of covering the thin barrel with a silencer looking cover.... , but i also didnt want to loose the muzzle brake.. (i still believe it helps a bit.. :) )
So i did this... i was very surprised how strong and solid this structure is...

what do you gys think... ? :nest:

Dmitri, is that a commercial built or something that you adapted? The CZ-858 barrel is not tapered forward of the handguards? Let me know if you notice a difference in your group sizes with the jacket. :)

Hey Tony..

it is an Airsoft can that i purchased from Hong Kong.. 3 days delivered.. :)
it was originally threaded from both sides.. so i driled both sides out to just under 5/8".. and tightened it between the barrel clamp and a muzzle brake..

Here are the different lengths you might need... :

Threaded at the front, tight to gas block. (no brake, no b. clamp) - 245mm

Brake at the front, tight to gas block. (no b. clamp) - 230mm

Threaded at the front, tight to barrel clamp (no brake) - 220mm

With the brake and the barrel clamp (the way i have it) - 200mm

I'll let you know how it shoots and holds up together... i'm going to the range upcoming weekend.

Looks mighty nice!

I recommend to drill the bottom of this tube to allow air circulation, otherwise you will create a condensation effect which might rust your barrel.

I'm not going to remove the front sight block though, so if I do make one it will have to be a split job with 2 bushings front and back at least.

My mama always told me, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it.

so I wont say anything.

except for that ^

and that^

ahh screwit. That build looks silly, you should remove the brake and move the can over a few inches.

How hard was it to remove the front sight base? Having issues knocking off after removing the pins...anyone have to split theirs off somehow? Would heating it a bit help it come off easier? Also, I guess its bare metal underneath...how odd does it look with the enamel paint there ending well before the threaded end? How thick is the enamel paint? Thanks for the info!

Startin to look like

That brake has to go, and so does either the red dot or the scope IMO, but its your rifle.

If you need a source for de-activated real suppressors for AKM just drop me a line. They are clamp on real stuff and should fit CZ857. They sale them from Eastern Europe

Hey guys I'm in the process of doing the fake can as well. Google redwolf airsoft, it's a website based out of I think japan, doesn't really matter they ship to Canada and they are quick, just measure the length you want and most are 14mm thread. I got mine in a couple days and I'm in the process of taking off the front site base. should have pics up in a day or two
