How hard was it to remove the front sight base? Having issues knocking off after removing the pins...anyone have to split theirs off somehow? Would heating it a bit help it come off easier? Also, I guess its bare metal underneath...how odd does it look with the enamel paint there ending well before the threaded end? How thick is the enamel paint? Thanks for the info!
it is not that hard to remove the front sight... punch out the pins, heat it up a bit,
then tighten it in the vise, and start nocking it off...while constantly heating it up. you might need some help holding a blowtorch... avoid hitting the sight, make sure you have some wood or plywood between the sight and a hammer.... once it is off cover the bare metal with some anticorosion paint.
does the folding stock affect accuracy much?
He chose funtionality over appeareance, can't blame him for that.
