Aftermarket bullpup stocks are not all they are cracked up to be. To make them work with a non-bullpup firearm is a very difficult proposition and requires extensive engineering and modification. As such, bullpup stocks tend to have poor trigger pull and ergonomics, especially if they are cheap models. Most guys who have tried to use aftermarket bullpups for rifles like SKSs, Ruger Mini 14s, etc more or less have the consensus that they suck.

A purpose-built bullpup firearm (IE the Kel Tec RFB) is best option, since it was designed from the start to function as such, unlike a regular rifle.

Except that........an M14 is extremely reliable whereas a Kel Tec.....is well a Kel Tec. Do some searches on how reliable they are. Just saying......

We are building the Rogue M1A system for export by the way. We are going to the Bullpup shoot in KY in a few weeks. I will come back with full auto pics and video......make sure you folks stock up on Kleenex for the drool.

That's interesting and knowing that the Rogue Bullpup conversion kit is built in the USA and that it is prohibited in Canada I have questions: Is the US manufacturer not willing/able to export their product?
What is the reason for kits being built in BC? Will the kit built in BC be lighter than the current Rogue kit?

BTW, I do agree with you about the reliability of M14s and I'm not a fan of the RFB

It appears that purpose built bullpups are okay as long as the gun cannot be fired without the stock.

It is aftermarket bullpup kits that got declared prohib up here.

Actually, even bullpups that are military grade, military issued designed over years and years...don't always end up any good. Even after getting a major "makeover" by an experienced German fun maker (gun maker?)!

I speak of course of the SA-80 L-85...standard issue to British squaddies for decades now. Yet all their special ops, special forces all use Canadian C-8's with various bolt-ons, go figure!
